Beekenkamp Plants Ornamentals is a member of the Beekenkamp Group. Within the Ornamentals division the focus is on breeding and production of pot-, green- and bedding plants. These plants do originate from cuttings as well as seeds. Most important products within the assortment are: Begonia, Cyclamen, Dahlia, Poinsettia, Impatiens NG, Celosia, Platycodon and Gerbera.
Beekenkamp Plants does operate a state of art breeding facility. Many of the products sold today do originate already from Beekenkamps own breeding. There is a strong belief in the necessity and possibilities of breeding. Not only because the market does ask for novelties also because a continuous improvement of the quality of the products is necessary. Whenever a new product is developed strict procedures to come to disease free Elite materials are followed. Such to guarantee each customer an optimal start of production.
The company is based in Holland. However the production and sales activities today are world wide. Sales representatives are based throughout most European countries. Agencies are on the job for most overseas countries.
The farms for mother plants consist of over 30 ha totally. The rooting takes place in a 25 ha modern greenhouse facility. Beekenkamp Plants does serve the complete European market with rooted cuttings. Exports outside Europe mainly consist of unrooted cuttings. Often trays of seedlings or green plants are added in combined orders. The fact that Beekenkamp Plants is an expert on young plants of special crops but at the same moment operates a wider assortment has proven a real advantage to many customers.
Since 2002 Beekenkamp Plants has sales towards the Chinese market. This is done in close cooperation with its agent (Bejing Sunny Agriculture co., LTD). Especially the market of Begonia cuttings is developing progressively. Weekly options to most areas of China give access for the customers to the total assortment of Beekenkamp. All customers are supported in their cultivation. Meaning that with Beekenkamp one not only buys the actual product but also the knowledge to make it perform well.
