Plantum NL

Plantum NL is the Dutch association for breeding, tissue culture, production and trade of seeds and young plants. Plantum NL represents some 400 businesses in floriculture, horticulture and agriculture, giving voice when it comes to discussions with government bodies, social organisations and other parties involved in agribusiness. The affiliated firms are active in plant breeding and propagation of cuttings, seeds and young plants. Collaboration in Plantum NL is aimed at creating international credibility and a common vision of the sector's future.

Plantum NL is interested in the Chinese market because of the protection of breeder’s rights. The aim is to support the development of the Plant Variety Protection system in China. A good Plant Variety Protection system is an important condition for the Dutch plant breeding industry to introduce the newest varieties in China. These new high value varieties are important for the development of Chinese ornamental sector in Yunnan and China.

In cooperation with the NABSO Kunming, Plantum NL wishes to promote and create more awareness of Plant Variety Protection in China. Furthermore, the NABSO Kunming can provide Plantum NL with up to date information about the Chinese developments on Plant Variety Protection and business to business contacts for our members.
